Sara Isa Djukanović, has over 20 years of experience in the film and commercial production industry. She began her career in Slovenian film, where she discovered her passion for storytelling and the collaborative energy of being on set. From the very beginning, she has also been actively involved in television commercials, where she gradually specialized as an assistant director.
While film continues to inspire her, the long production timelines became harder to balance after becoming a mother. In recent years, she has focused primarily on TVCs, finding creative fulfillment in their fast-paced and dynamic environment. Still, she enjoys working on short narrative projects whenever possible, as a way to stay connected to her roots in film.
Sara Isa is currently working as a freelance assistant director and is collaborating with all major service production companies in Slovenia, including Bas Production, Studio Arkadena, Trixtr, Hund Films, Comrad Film, Sindikat, Division film & 2.0 film.
Her experience spans a wide range of production types - from intimate shoots with children and working with animals, to large-scale car commercials involving multiple locations and complex unit moves in a single day. She brings calm, precision, and adaptability to every set, no matter the size or scope.
She is based in Slovenia but available for work internationally, and always open to new creative collaborations beyond its borders.
